The “Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres” is one of the principal sources of publications regarding the fundamental instruments of work in the scholarly domains lying within the Academy’s area of competence. Since its establishment, the Academy has focused its efforts on the publication of literary and archaeological sources that have served as basic instruments in historical and philological research for all those who work in the area of cultural history.

The frequency of the Academy’s publishing activities is constant. Each year it produces more than 20 annual volumes and periodic instalments, including works published under its patronage. At a time when publishing options have decreased, the “Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres” continues to make an important contribution to maintaining the prestige of French scholarly activities.
